The work in this exhibition, produced during lock-down, is based on King’s continuing exploration of the changing dynamic in the landscape around his studio and home in Kilkea, Co. Kildare and the steady observation of light and atmosphere on his daily walks before beginning work in the studio. His recurring theme of the passage of time is made manifest in paintings and drawings that feature in this show. The river and its banks where he swims, reflections, seasonal changes in sown and harvested fields, weather and trees and the deep remembrances of soil in the events that shaped them.
We would like to invite visitors wishing to attend the 'finnissage' event marking the final day of King's exhibition to book a time to view the works. This will enable us to ensure there is a maximum of 4 visitors at a time inside the gallery and to provide details for contact tracing.
